Elos Sublative Skin Resurfacing

maxresdefault-300x169Acne scarring, uneven skin texture, fine lines and enlarged pores are some of the greatest aesthetic concerns when it comes to the skin and appearance. One state of the art technologies designed to address these issues by providing effective skin resurfacing and rejuvenation is the  Elos Plus platform, which includes the non-surgical Sublative Skin Resurfacing treatment.

The Technology

The Sublative treatment assists in minimizing the appearance of scars, diminish wrinkles, and even assist with stretch marks. It does this by harnessing combined bi-polar radio-frequency and optical energies to target the deeper layers of the skin. “This device effectively reaches the collagen producing layers in the dermis of the skin, strengthening and evening out damaged collagen fibers and stimulating the body to produce more,” says  Dr. Miriam Hanson, a board certified dermatologist and cosmetic skin care expert at Sanova Dermatology in Austin, Texas. The device focuses its energy in a fractionated matrix or grid, providing smooth and even results.

The Treatment

Prior to the procedure, topical anesthesia has been applied to the skin so little to no discomfort is experienced. The hand piece is applied to the skin and energy is delivered to the dermal layer, while the outer epidermal layer of the skin receives minimal disturbance. This allows for the skin to heal at a quicker rate. Patients may experience redness, similar to a sunburn, for a few days post-treatment. “As with any other laser procedure, we recommend patients apply sunscreen in the post-procedure period to protect the sensitive and healing skin and avoid and unwanted side effects,” notes Dr. Hanson. The number of treatments varies based on the condition of the skin and the desired results. Most patients undergo 3 to 5 treatments to see the desired outcome.

Who Is This Treatment For?

This form of scar revision, anti-aging, and skin resurfacing is safe for all skin types. “Anyone looking to see a noticeable change in the tone and texture of their skin can benefit from and ElosPlus Sublative treatment,” says Dr. Hanson. “Unlike other laser systems, this treatment can be performed safely in just about everyone, regardless of how dark or light your skin.”
