Melanie Pickett, MD

Dr. Melanie Pickett is a board-certified dermatologist that specializes in adult and pediatric dermatology, including general medical dermatology, skin cancer detection and treatment, and rheumatologic dermatology.  She is experienced in the treatment of complex skin conditions and enjoys working with her patients to create an individualized treatment plan that is best for them.

Dr. Pickett completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.

She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.  Dr. Pickett completed her internship and dermatology residency training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.  During her residency, she participated in research regarding the side effects of novel targeted therapies for cancer and was selected as a resident representative to the Board of Directors of the Women’s Dermatologic Society.  In addition, Dr. Pickett served as Chief Resident in her final year of training.

Dr. Pickett is passionate about patient care and stays up to date on medical research and new therapies for skin disease.  Her work has been published in many peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at numerous academic conferences.

Dr. Pickett is a native of Austin and is excited to be back in her hometown. In her spare time she can be found hiking, running, practicing yoga, and exploring the Austin restaurant scene.
