Vanessa Voss, MD
Dr. Voss is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs and reconstructive surgeon. Raised in Northern California, she graduated with honors with a B.A. in Integrative Biology from the University of California – Berkeley, where she received many prestigious local and national research awards and was accepted to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
Dr. Voss graduated from medical school at Saint Louis University as the most awarded member of her 175-person class. For academic excellence, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Medical Society. For compassionate patient-centered care, she was elected by her peers to the Gold Humanism Medicine Honor Society. The faculty honored her with the Robert Felix Dean’s Award for student leadership, as well as the American Medical Women’s Association Glasgow-Rubin Achievement Award for her accomplishments in research and teaching. She also earned the Rodney M. Coe Distinction in community service for her leadership at low-income clinics.
Dr. Voss then moved to New York for an internal medicine internship at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s/West hospital, followed by a dermatology residency at Stony Brook University. In her final year, she was appointed Chief Resident and scored in the top 2% of all dermatology residents nationally on the annual In-Training Examination. After residency, Dr. Voss completed a highly competitive ACGME-accredited Mohs Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology fellowship at the University of Missouri under nationally celebrated educator Dr. Nicholas Golda, with additional training from past AAD President Dr. George Hruza. During training, she performed over 1500 Mohs surgery cases with an extensive focus on complex facial reconstruction and providing elegant cosmetic outcomes. Dr. Voss also has experience in cosmetic treatments, including soft tissue fillers (Juvederm® and Restylane®) and other anti-aging therapies (Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, Jeuveau®), platelet-rich plasma (PRP), sclerotherapy, scar revision, and laser surgery for vascular lesions, scars, pigmented lesions, and hair removal.
Dr. Voss is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American College of Mohs Surgery and is dual board-certified in dermatology and micrographic dermatologic surgery. She has published many peer-reviewed scientific articles, presented at multiple national conferences, and continues to mentor medical students and dermatology residents. She strives to treat every patient like family and is known for excellent communication with her patients, providing them the information and support needed to address their dermatologic needs.
Dr. Voss lives in New Orleans with her husband John and enjoys yoga, hiking, and delicious food.
