Megan Shelton, MD
Dr. Megan Shelton is a board-certified dermatologist and a board-certified and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon who specializes in the treatment of skin cancer, including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma.
Known for her compassionate and patient-centric approach, Dr. Shelton strives to create a supportive and comfortable environment for her patients. She takes the time to thoroughly explain diagnoses and treatment options, ensuring that each patient is well-informed and actively involved in their care.
Dr. Shelton earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where she was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her dermatology residency at the University of Texas at Austin, Dell Medical School, where she served as chief resident in her final year of training. She then completed a fellowship in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at the University of Michigan.
After completion of her fellowship, Dr. Shelton practiced in the division of Cutaneous Surgery and Oncology at the University of Michigan, where she provided comprehensive care for skin cancer of all complexities and was involved in resident education. Dr. Shelton has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and medical textbook chapters, and has presented her research at national academic meetings. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Shelton enjoys spending time with her husband and children, exploring new coffee shops, collecting houseplants, and hiking.
