BOTOX® Cosmetic

Are you tired of looking tired? Feel like you’re frowning when you’re not?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a solution composed of a purified protein that works by relaxing muscles that cause frown lines and wrinkles in the skin.

By retraining facial muscles, BOTOX® Cosmetic can smooth the surface of the skin, and is especially useful for brow furrows and crow’s feet. BOTOX® injections can also be used for stubborn neck lines and even to soften the severity of a square jaw.

The results can ultimately be youthful, fresh, and very natural. Others likely won’t know you’ve had any treatment unless you tell them!

BOTOX® Cosmetic is appropriate for men and women who want to refine their frown lines and other signs of age. Treatment is convenient and simple, typically with little discomfort and virtually no downtime. The precise injections go just beneath the skin and are made with a very fine needle in a safe, controlled environment.

BOTOX® Cosmetic results are temporary, lasting three to six months. Ninety-two percent of patients report a high satisfaction with the outcome after their initial treatment. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity…schedule your appointment today.

During your consultation at Sanova Dermatology, our professional staff will answer all your questions and advise you on additional options for facial rejuvenation. For example, you may want to complement your BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments with dermal fillers to improve the appearance of wrinkles and creases in other areas of your face, or to enhance your lips. The combined results can be nothing short of stunning!

BOTOX® Cosmetic can also be utilized to successfully treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). The solution controls overactive sweat glands by blocking the signal from the body that triggers perspiration.

BOTOX® Cosmetic for DAO

Frown got you down? Do others think you’re sad when you’re not? Our skin is constantly fighting a battle against the effects of gravity. Sure enough, over time, the corners of our mouth get pulled down and contribute to the folds around the lower mouth known as marionette lines. Marionette lines are the vertical lines that run from the corners of the mouth to the mandible, framing and encircling the chin. Prominent marionette lines can sometimes make one look stern, displeased, or disdainful.

Believe it or not, gravity is not the only force pulling on that droopy smile. A muscle known as Depressor Anguli Ori (DAO) connects the corners of the mouth to the mandible (jawbone) and pulls down on the sides of the mouth when it contracts. The DAO is primarily used for facial expression and allows us to – you guessed it – frown! The use of our DAOs over time makes them strong. Combined with other natural processes in the skin, such as volume loss and a loosening of the ligaments around the mouth, the DAOs contribute to marionette lines and the jowls around our jawline and lower face.

BOTOX® Cosmetic can be used to treat the DAOs and stop them from pulling down the corners of the mouth. The procedure is simple and almost painless. With just a few units, this non-invasive technique can soften these muscles and relax this downward pull. Within days, the DAO muscles soften, improving the appearance of the marionette lines and restoring the corners of the mouth to a more youthful and pleasing position.

BOTOX® Cosmetic for Jaw Reshaping

If you feel that your jaw appears a bit wider than you like, BOTOX® Cosmetic may be a good option for your needs. With careful, precisely placed injections, the BOTOX® Cosmetic solution can diminish the appearance of a wide or “square” jawline, which can ultimately improve the balance and harmony of your facial features. The results typically last for several months, and can be maintained with occasional follow-up treatment sessions. One of our doctors will meet with you for an initial consultation to determine if this procedure is right for your goals.
