Employee Spotlight: Mallory!

IMG_2588 (3)Mallory could be considered a Jacqueline of all trades at Sanova Dermatology! She originated as an Administrative Assistant, helping with the scheduling and check-ins/outs. She has since then moved to the back as a Medical Assistant and continuously blows us away with her knowledge and patience! She has the ambition to become a Physician Assistant and plans to attend PA school in 2015. Here is a recap of a quick chat that we had together, which will shed a little more light on Mallory!

  1. What is your favorite thing about the office?
I love the people I work with from the administrative side to the back office to our doctors.
  2. How does it feel to have gone from an administrative role to an MA?
The transition from an administrative role to MA has been a very exciting change for me. Personally, the role has helped me towards achieving my goal of becoming a Physician Assistant.
  3. What is one interesting thing about your job that you don’t think someone may know?
Being an educator. I have the daily privilege of educating people on various topics like the importance of sunscreen, daily skin care, and exciting cosmetic procedures.
  4. What are your aspirations with Sanova Dermatology, and beyond?
I started out working front desk at Sanova Dermatology trying to work towards my goal of becoming a PA. It is amazing to see how much our clinic has grown and I look forward to the continued growth. Since my first day of work in August 2013, I have transitioned to the position of MA. This transition has aided me on my journey to becoming a PA and I have my first PA school interview next week.
  5. What is your favorite part of your job?
I love coming to work. I enjoy seeing establish patients and making connections with new patients.
  6. What do you like to do in your free time?
I spend most of my free time outside. I love going on hikes with my dogs and spending time in my garden. I also spend a fair amount of time going to live performances such as live music, plays, musicals. Also I spend time reading every evening.
