Learn Matt’s thoughts on working at Sanova Dermatology and how he enjoys his time out of the office.

What do you enjoy about being a part of the Sanova Dermatology team?

I enjoy the challenge and the fast paced environment. Throughout my entire life, I have been a part of many successful teams and I’ve learned that in order to get the most out of your employees, you need to push them to continually bring out their strengths and help them address their weaknesses. I enjoy helping them grow professionally and teaching everyone how to work efficiently as a team.

What about the team do you think makes it a strong group?

The communication and open door policies are vital to maintaining a strong group. Everyone is able to give feedback about the day to day operations which allows us to continually make changes and stay ahead of the evolving medical field. We are all focused and well aware of the foundation Sanova Dermatology is built on, which is to provide a high level of customer service and experience. When everyone is working together towards this goal, you can consistently provide that high level of service with minimal downfall. That is what we do here at Sanova Dermatology and what sets us apart from the rest.

What have you done before Sanova Dermatology (work/career)?

My first real career was playing baseball for the Chicago White Sox straight out of Round Rock High School. Although this sounds to some like fun, or not a real job- This was by far the toughest job I’ve ever had and will probably ever have.

After professional baseball, I worked for a medical software company where I traveled the country helping medical offices of all specialties on electronic medical records. I focused primarily on the practice management side, but I was also consistently exposed to the medical and very much enjoyed this as well. This was an incredible experience for me and I was able to take what I learned from working onsite at numerous offices into Sanova Dermatology with me.

What aspirations do you have for yourself and Sanova Dermatology?

For myself, I’d like to take my past work experiences and apply them to helping Sanova grow. The Providers have done an incredible job distinguishing their business from others, and it’s exciting to work for such passionate individuals. With their guidance and my experience, I have no doubts we will continue to see positive changes within this organization.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy spending time with my 2 daughters and teaching them about life. We take a lot of trips and are always outside playing sports, or  watching a competitive game live. I believe life experiences play a big role in developing children into successful adults, so I strive to be able to provide these opportunities for them.

Any big summer plans?

I’m heading to the beach this summer with family! I’m hoping to squeeze in a deep sea fishing trip while we are there. And yes, I will be covered in sunscreen.

What procedure or skin care product do you think is important?

Important? Sunscreen is definitely the most important. I also prefer a little Botox around the eyes to help keep a youthful appearance. It’s never too late to start a skin care regimen, even if it’s as simple as applying sunscreen to your face before going outdoors.
