Heard about that “new” peel?

It seems every time you turn around another skin care company, esthetician, beauty guru or celeb is talking about the newest and revolutionary peel to improve your skin. But you should know – there’s history here. Lot’s of history! Chemical peels have been around for centuries and date back to ancient Egyptian time. Cleopatra and the Romans used a number of food acids to peel their skin. Lactic acid, an active ingredient of sour milk, was used topically as part of an ancient skin rejuvenation regimen. Old wine was used for the same purpose with tartaric acid being the active ingredient. So whether it’s fine lines, acne, scarring melasma, hyperpigmentation, textural irregularities or sun damage, this approach to skin rejuvenation is truly time-tested!
