Can CoolSculpting Help You Lose the Holiday Weight?

The holidays are over and it’s back to everyday life and a more normal-looking pantry. “Most of us are tempted during the holidays with more goodies than we see at any other time of the year at a time when for many of us, cold weather, snow and ice drive us indoors and make us less active,” admits Mist Gray, registered nurse and CoolSculpting expert – North Austin in Austin, Texas. Unfortunately, these two facts add up to one unwelcome reality — namely, unwanted weight gain.

Have you considered getting some CoolSculpting help with your holiday weight gain? In case you haven’t heard, the CoolSculpting procedure is the only FDA-cleared non-surgical fat reduction treatment that uses “controlled cooling” to eradicate the stubborn fat that seems to resist our best efforts at using diet and exercise to eliminate. That’s right, the FDA has cleared CoolSculpting for the treatment of fat bulges in the sub-mental area, thigh, abdomen and flank. It’s also been cleared to treat so-called “bra-fat”, upper arm fat and the “banana roll” fat beneath the buttocks. And the best part? The results are noticeable and lasting!

How It’s Done

CoolSculpting is a pretty straightforward procedure. Your provider like Allure Laser & Med Spa – CoolSculpting will provide a recommendation on which areas to treat and how many treatments you’ll need to reach your goal. Then, your CoolSculpting technician will work with you to tailor a plan that meets your specific needs. “With a variety of treatment applicators to choose from, you can design a treatment plan designed to deliver the results you’re looking for,” explains Gray. Depending on your goals and how many areas need addressing, treatment might be accomplished in just one visit, or it might take several visits.

The procedure itself can feel a little “chilly”, as its name implies! The controlled cooling is done with an applicator and “freezes” the targeted fat. At first, you might feel intense cold, but don’t worry — the feeling typically subsides after 5-10 minutes as the area becomes numb. “There’s a vacuum effect as the gel-pad applicator draws the targeted tissue into the applicator cup,” says Gray. While you’re being treated, you may want to read, answer emails on your phone, or just chill out and relax (no pun intended!).

After Your Treatment

The effects of the treatment are typically minor. You may have some temporary redness or swelling. Some people notice bruising or tenderness as well, but in general, downtime is so minimal that many people return to work immediately after their treatment.

What About Results? How Soon Will You Notice a Slimmer You?

“You could start to see results in as little as three weeks, with optimal results apparent after just two months,” states Gray. Your body will naturally continue to flush out fat cells for up to 4-6 months after treatment is completed.
