How Many Kybella Treatments Will I Need?

What Is Kybella?

Kybella is a well-known and widely-used treatment designed to help dissolve excess body fat under the chin, commonly referred to as a ‘double chin‘. Kybella works to reduce and minimize submental fullness, which is caused by excess fat deposition beneath the jawline.

Who Is a Candidate?

There are some patients who are thin or this has been a stubborn area for weight loss and treating this area can provide a dramatic impact.

How Many Kybella Treatments Will I Need?

“Most patients receiving Kybella treatments will typically see the best results with three sessions, though this can vary considerably due to a number of factors, such as the amount of fullness in the area at the beginning of treatments and how well the patient’s body responds to Kybella,” explains Jennifer Jordan, physician assistant at Sanova Dermatology in Austin, Texas. If you’re considering Kybella treatments to tighten up your chin, your dermatologist will be able to give you a good indication of the results you can expect and the number of treatments you may need to achieve them.

Is Kybella For Everyone?

There are also cases wherein a dermatologist may suggest another kind of treatment altogether. “If you’re experiencing more sagging skin than excessive fullness, for example, then Kybella probably isn’t the treatment for you as it will likely have little to no effect,” Jordan shares. That said, there are a variety of other treatments available depending on how much sagging has occurred.
