Is There Downtime After CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting in Austin, TX

What to Expect

CoolSculpting is a cutting edge, non-invasive procedure that enhances an individual’s appearance by eliminating stubborn fat cells and revealing muscle tone. Your scheduled appointment is an outpatient procedure that takes about one hour per targeted area. During the procedure, the patient experiences a cold sensation from the gel pad and a suction piece is placed over the targeted area.

Benefits for the Body

CoolSculpting is an innovative experience that helps patients reveal the body they have been working hard for. Areas that can be targeted include abdomen, back (flank and bra fat), double chin, inner and outer thigh, above the knee, arms, and gluteal fold (banana roll), “Love handles, tummies, and submental double chin,” says Jenna Balke, a licensed medical aesthetician and certified laser technician at Sanova Dermatology in Central Austin. “These are the perfect areas to treat,” she continues. By freezing fat cells, patients are able to uncover their muscle definition to tone and contour stubborn areas. This procedure is perfect for the patient who isn’t looking for weight loss but is wanting to reveal a more toned and sculpted physique. The effects of the procedure can be seen as early as three weeks after treatment.

After the Procedure

No Downtime

The beauty of the CoolSculpting procedure is how efficient, comfortable, and effective it is for those patients who are experiencing discouragement over “trouble areas”. This procedure is very different from liposuction or tummy tucks (Tummy Tuck in Beverly Hills) because it does not interfere with a patient’s daily activities. There is no recovery time or a high risk of complication post-treatment.

Patients will be able to leave the office and immediately return to their normal, daily activities. There is no downtime after a CoolSculpting procedure. Patients are even encouraged to work out and stay active after the procedure to help break down the fat cells that have been treated. “Targeted areas can be tender and numb, but these conditions are temporary,” Balke explains. Over the next few months, the dead fat cells will continue to be metabolized by the body and staying active will only further encourage this process.
