CoolSculpting can Eliminate the “Banana Roll” Once and for All

The Banana Roll — that little roll of fat under the butt that never seems to respond to exercise? Eliminating it is high on your “body goals” wish list, but you’re not sure where to start, and liposuction seems a little extreme. Have you considered CoolSculpting that annoying banana roll out of existence?

“If you’ve never heard of CoolSculpting, or have heard but don’t fully understand how it works, you’re going to love it!” exclaims Dr. Miriam Hanson, board certified Dermatologist and cosmetic expert at Sanova Dermatology. While it’s not for patients needing to lose excessive amounts of weight, it’s the perfect non-invasive treatment for things like the banana roll, love handles, ever-lasting pooch, and more. In fact, in the spring of 2014, CBS News reported that the procedure is one of the few they’ve investigated that drew a consensus of approval from “academics” about its effectiveness. The fact that significant fat removal is possible without invasive treatments is nothing short of astonishing, but CoolSculpting delivers just that!

How It Works

“Believe it or not, the idea for CoolSculpting arose years ago, when doctors observed kids who ate a lot of popsicles often ended up with dimples in their cheeks. They showed that the cold temperature killed fat cells in their cheeks,” says Dr. Hanson. That’s exactly how CoolSculpting works. Once fat cells are frozen they naturally drain from the body. The results aren’t instantaneous — it can take six to twelve weeks to see optimum results. But a patient can lose a 1/2″ of fat after just one half hour-long treatment!

How It’s Done

At your initial consultation, your CoolSculpting treatment provider will discuss the procedure with you and develop a plan tailored for your needs. Once the plan is in place, you’ll be ready for your procedure. “During the procedure a gel pad applicator is applied to the area or areas targeted for treatment,” Dr. Hanson explains. The applicator delivers controlled cooling to the area while you read, check your emails, or nap. That’s all there is to it.

How It Feels

CoolSculpting, as you might have guessed from its name, feels cold — like ice. That’s because the device is freezing the fat cells directly below it. That icy-cold feeling usually dissipates within 5-10 minutes. You might also feel some tugging or pulling at your skin since most applicators use a vacuum to pull fatty tissue into the applicator cup. Although the procedure might feel a little “weird”, it’s not painful.

Afterwards, you might notice some mild bruising and/or redness on your skin. Some people also experience itching or skin sensitivity, but in general, side-effects are usually mild.

It’s Safe and Effective

CoolSculpting is an FDA-cleared, non-surgical fat reduction treatment that produces proven results that are noticeable and lasting. It’s a procedure that’s backed by science and research, so you can feel confident that you’re not undergoing a procedure that promises the moon without any real guarantees that it actually works.
