How Do I Use The Post-procedure Kit?

Unlike many peels that are neutralized in the clinic, you will be sent home with the ViPeel still on your skin. After you have had the peel on for four hours, you will wash your face and follow the directions listed in your Take-Home Kit!  You use the first wipe from your post-procedure kit after washing your face. You will follow that up with another one hour before bed time. There’s then another wipe 30 minutes before bed time. You will repeat the last two steps the next evening, and will then be out of wipes. “The post-peel process that ViPeel offers is great! It basically reactivates the peel you have in the office, allowing you to continue to receive the benefits long after your actual peel has been completed,” says Dr. Miriam Hanson, a board-certified Dermatologist in Austin, Texas. Your post-peel kit also contains a cortisone cream for any itching or excessive irritation that might occur, not to mention an SPF 50 sunscreen to protect your skin during the rejuvenation and healing process.

When Can I Apply Makeup After My Peel?

“We suggest that patients wait until the day after their peel to apply any makeup,” shares Dr. Hanson.  As the peel is not washed off until 4 hours after application, cosmetics could potentially alter the results or cause a reaction.

Can I Exfoliate After My Peel?

“Because the ViPeel provides intensive exfoliation to the skin, we suggest waiting a week or longer to begin using and exfoliating product or device,” Dr. Hanson states. This can include physically or chemically exfoliating cleansers, clarisonic brushes, Retin-A or Vitamin A-based products. “Patients who do not heed warning to exfoliating after chemical peels can really damage their skin,” says Dr. Hanson.

Can I Workout After My ViPeel?

Because the ViPeel remains on the skin after the procedure, it is recommended to excessive sweating after its application. Dr. Hanson recommends waiting until the following day to ensure additional irritation on the face does not occur.

Should I Stay Out Of The Sun?

As much as possible, it is best to stay out of the sun after undergoing a ViPeel. “Amongst other things, these peels work by causing the skin to shed its outer layer. The treated areas become much more sensitive. They can burn, accumulate sun-damage, or induce sun spots if too you’re in the sun too much after the procedure,” Dr. Hanson informs. It is also suggested that you wear a minimum of SPF 30 consistently after your peel to optimize your protection from the sun.
