Is ELOS Sublative Safe for Skin Resurfacing?

ELOS Sublative is a skin treatment designed to yield maximum results with minimal invasion or discomfort. The treatment has been shown to be safe and effective on all skin types for the reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, acne scars, and other skin irregularities with nearly no downtime and minimal side effects when compared to other, similar procedures.

Risks

“While thoroughpre-op assessments and treatment precautions are needed with any resurfacing procedure, the risk of adverse effects with Sublative skin resurfacing is low,” says Dr. Kellie Reed, board certified Dermatologist at Sanova Dermatology. The most common side effects associated with the ELOS Sublative treatment are redness and swelling which can last anywhere from hours to days. Any discomfort caused by the actual procedure is minimized by a topical anesthetic which is applied to the skin before treatment.

Benefits

Patients often see immediate improvement in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles after their first treatment session, with the results improving over the next six months as the collagen grows. There is usually a noticeable improvement in the skin’s texture, tone, and laxity. Resurfacing can also improve the look of stretch marks, acne scars, and scars from other sources.

ELOS Sublative can be used for all skin types and while multiple treatments are generally recommended, many patients see impressive results with only one session. It is always best to have your skin checked by a certified dermatologist before undergoing any procedure, especially if you have a skin condition that could be aggravated by resurfacing.
